Administrative Secretary Bhupesh Chaudhary chairs review meeting of Agriculture Department.
Leh, January 15, 2025: The Administrative Secretary of the Agriculture Department, Bhupesh Chaudhary, chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the UT Secretariat in Leh to assess the progress of agricultural initiatives and schemes in the region.
During the meeting, extensive discussions and deliberations were held on the ongoing developmental works in the agriculture sector. The Chief Agriculture Officer of Leh provided a detailed update on the implementation and current status of several Central Sponsored Schemes including National Mission on Seeds and Planting Material; National Mission on Oilseed and Oil Palm; Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY); Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN); Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan-Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY) and National Mission on Agricultural Extension and Technology (NMAET).
The Secretary emphasized the importance of these schemes in boosting agricultural productivity and enhancing the welfare of farmers. He directed the officers to meticulously prepare the action plan for the fiscal year 2025-26, ensuring optimal utilization of allocated funds for the various schemes.
The Secretary also reviewed the progress under the Special Development Package (SDP) and the State Capital Expenditure Scheme, stressing the need for timely completion of projects to benefit the farming community. He urged the officers to focus on the implementation of the Digital Agriculture Mission, aimed at modernizing the agricultural sector through digital technology.
He highlighted the critical role of the agriculture department in achieving sustainable development and urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively to meet the targets set for the upcoming year.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Director of Agriculture, Chief Agriculture Officers of Leh and Kargil, District Agriculture Officers of Leh and Kargil, and the Nodal Officer for Central Sponsored Schemes (CSS).
