    Kargil, March 08, 2025: The School of Agricultural Science and Technology, University of Ladakh today celebrated International Women’s Day with enthusiasm, featuring active participation from B.Sc. Agriculture students, BAT trainees, and faculty members.
    The chief guest of the event was Dr. Faizan Ahmad, Dean of the School of Agricultural Science and Technology. The event aimed to highlight the significance of gender equality, women’s rights, and empowerment.
    The theme for this year’s celebration, “Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”, emphasized the importance of universal rights and opportunities, ensuring that every woman and girl can contribute to a more equitable future.
    Dr. Rinchan Dolkar addressed the gathering and spoke about the purpose of celebrating Women’s Day each year. She elaborated on the theme and urged students to empower themselves to establish their presence in society, making a meaningful impact.
    She also highlighted the multiple roles women play, especially in Ladakh’s agriculture sector, where they contribute significantly to farming and rural development.
    Dr. Mansoor and Dr. Plamo delivered inspiring speeches on women empowerment, sharing their insights on the role of women in the society. They encouraged students to challenge societal norms and work towards building a more inclusive and progressive society.
