CEC Kargil inspects ongoing infrastructure projects, addresses public concerns.

Kargil, April 28, 2025: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today conducted an inspection of various infrastructure works being executed by different departments at Kargil.
Chief Engineer, Project Vijayak, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil (Administrator MC Kargil), Chief Project Engineer, PDC Kargil, Superintending Engineer, PW (R&B) Kargil, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kargil, Executive Engineer, PHE Kargil, Executive Engineer, R&B Kargil, Executive Engineer, M&RE PDD Kargil, Executive Engineer, CCD 1st PDC Kargil, Executive Engineer, I&FC Kargil, Tehsildar, Kargil and Councillor, Town accompanied the CEC during the tour.
At Motorable Bridge at By-Pass Shilikchey, the CEC held a detailed discussion with the Chief Engineer of Project Vijayak. He directed that the land affected due to the project be duly assessed and included for compensation. Other technical and execution-related issues were also reviewed during the visit.
At the JAME Kargil bridge site, he stressed the need for inter-sectoral coordination among departments to ensure timely completion of the project. He also assured that if additional funds are required, they will be provided from the LAHDC Capex Budget.
Furthermore, the CEC instructed the R&B to address the issue of the PHE canal alignment, which crosses the road stretch after the bridge, to avoid future obstructions.
Earlier, the CEC visited Kabadi Nallah, where local residents raised concerns regarding stone fall hazards. They demanded the construction of a protection bund and the elevation of compound walls for safeguarding the populace. Taking note of the grievances, the CEC instructed the Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kargil to assess the site and determine if compensation is required for the affected areas.
