LEH, Ladakh – May 26, 2025 – The Additional District Development Commissioner, Sonam Nurboo (JKAS), convened a pivotal meeting today at the DC Office Conference Hall to discuss the convergence of various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented by different departments in Leh District.
During the meeting, a comprehensive presentation was given, highlighting the achievements of the Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission (LRLM) and outlining development plans for various blocks across Leh. The presentation also included LRLM’s geographical coverage, financial components, and convergence details. Discussions also took place with various Heads of Departments regarding various centrally sponsored schemes for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to maximize their potential.
Strategies were explored to enhance the self-sufficiency of existing SHGs based on their current livelihoods, in collaboration with various departments. A significant emphasis was placed on obtaining funds from NABARD to train the SHGs on value addition for the various products they produce. It was stressed that villages and SHGs where machinery has already been provided should be identified, and NABARD, along with LRLM, can secure funds and train these groups respectively.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to conduct regular follow-up meetings to assess action taken reports, progress reports of LRLM, and the work of other departments. This proactive approach aims to ensure continuous monitoring of progress and foster adaptive strategies for the LRLM’s initiatives.
