Agriculture Department Kargil Initiates Distribution of Vegetable Seedlings to Farmers.

Kargil, May 26, 2025: The Agriculture Department Kargil today commenced the distribution of vegetable seedlings of various high-yielding and locally adapted varieties to farmers from the Floriculture Garden, Baroo.
The initiative aims to enhance vegetable cultivation in the region and promote sustainable agricultural practices among local farming communities.
The event was formally inaugurated by the Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil, Shri Ashiq Hussain Basharat, who highlighted the department’s commitment to supporting farmers through timely distribution of quality planting material and technical guidance.
Also present on the occasion were Chief Horticulture Officer Kargil, District Agriculture Officer, and Assistant Soil Chemist Agriculture Kargil, who interacted with farmers and briefed them about the scientific methods of vegetable cultivation and nutrient management for better productivity.
