DC Kargil Reviews Progress of Irrigation and Flood Control Department Projects.

Kargil, June 26, 2025 — Deputy Commissioner and CEO of LAHDC Kargil, Sh. Rakesh Kumar (IAS), chaired a review meeting of the Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department today at his office chamber.
The meeting focused on assessing the progress of ongoing projects under various funding heads, including Capex, SDP, State Sector, and languishing schemes. Attendees included JD Planning/CPO Abdul Hadi, Superintending Engineer (I&FC) Mohd Abass, Executive Engineer Ghulam Hussain, Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs), Junior Engineers (JEs), and other administrative staff of the department.
Officials provided detailed presentations outlining the status of various ongoing works. The Deputy Commissioner directed the team to accelerate both expenditure and physical progress across projects, while maintaining quality standards.
He also instructed that any disputes arising during project execution should be promptly referred to the concerned SDM or Tehsildar for early resolution.
In a forward-looking move, the DC recommended convening a joint meeting with the Agriculture Department. The objective is to prioritise irrigation schemes in areas that have demonstrated progress in the agricultural sector.
The meeting concluded with directions to hold a follow-up session soon, during which progress will be reviewed JE-wise.
