    DC Kargil Visits Aryan Valley, Emphasises Cultural Preservation and Tourism Development.
    Kargil, July 12, 2025 – Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, today visited Aryan Valley to attend the Dharti Aba Jan Baghidari Abhiyan 2025 camp held at Garkone village. He also held a public durbar to address public grievances.
    During the event, heads and representatives of various departments including Sheep Husbandry, Revenue, R&B Division, PHE, Horticulture, KREDA, Animal Husbandry, Health, Rural Development, ICDS, and Tourism informed beneficiaries about the various Central Sponsored Schemes currently being implemented in their respective departments. They also briefed the gathering about the ongoing development works underway in Aryan Valley under their departments.
    While addressing the event, DC Rakesh Kumar urged beneficiaries to make the most of the services offered during the camp. He encouraged the public to visit each departmental stall to gather information about available beneficiary schemes.
    Highlighting the cultural significance of Aryan Valley, DC Rakesh emphasized the need to protect, promote, and showcase it to the rest of the world.
    He further announced that a special tourism camp will be held in the near future to explore the possibility of establishing more homestays and guest houses in the valley. He advised residents to prepare relevant documents in advance to expedite the registration process when the camp is conducted.
    The Deputy Commissioner also stressed exploring the economic potential of apricots through proper branding, processing, and marketing. He assured that possibilities related to Border Tourism would also be explored. Regarding the establishment of an Eklavya School, he mentioned that necessary recommendations will be forwarded. Additionally, a camp for the issuance of Domicile and ALC certificates will be organized in Aryan Valley, he added.
    Addressing the occasion, former CEC LAHDC Kargil and Councilor of Silmo Constituency, Feroz Ahmed Khan, expressed gratitude to the DC for his maiden visit to the valley and welcomed him warmly.
    He highlighted the need to explore Aryan Valley’s potential in the horticulture sector and Border Tourism. He also raised concerns related to road connectivity, school infrastructure, and the implementation of homestay schemes.
    Nominated Councilor Rigzin Gurmeth emphasized the need for establishing an Eklavya School and sought coordinated support from concerned departments to accelerate developmental activities in the valley.
    Later, the Deputy Commissioner held a public durbar and addressed the grievances of residents from various villages across Aryan Valley.
    On the occasion, DC Rakesh distributed LRC certificates, horticulture passbooks, and dustbins among beneficiaries
    The Deputy Commissioner and accompanying dignitaries were captivated by the cultural performances presented by folk artists of Aryan Valley.
    He was accompanied by officers from various district departments, including R&B, Horticulture, Rural Development, Health, ICDS, Tourism, KREDA, Revenue, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, PHE, and others.
