Awareness cum Cleanliness Drive Conducted at Panchayat Halqas of Khaltse and Temisgam.

In line with the directions of the Deputy Commissioner/CEO Leh, Romil Singh Donk (IAS), the Rural Development Department, Khaltse, successfully conducted an Awareness cum Cleanliness Drive at Panchayat Halqa Khaltse and Panchayat Halqa Temisgam on July 15, 2025, as part of the ongoing celebrations of the Month of Compassion.
The event was graced by the presence of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse, Mohd Sharif; BDO Khaltse, Pankaj Rajput; AEE PHE, Phurboo Sangdup; AEE R&B, Anwar Khan; AEE I&FC, Mohd Abdullah; Panchayat Inspector, Rigzin Yangjor; Namberdar Temisgam, Tsewang Dorjay; JE PHE, Asif Mirza and Panchayat Secretary Temisgam, Dolma Lamo.
The initiative aimed to foster collective responsibility among residents towards cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental consciousness.
While addressing the gathering, SDM Mohd Sharif stressed the importance of using dustbins and the services of the Solid Resource Management Centre (SRMC) vehicle. He urged the public to cooperate with concerned departments to maintain cleanliness and also highlighted the objectives of the Month of Compassion.
BDO Pankaj Rajput and the Panchayat Inspector further elaborated on the significance of dustbins and garbage collection vehicles in ensuring a clean and healthy environment.
Namberdar Temisgam, Tsewang Dorjay, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks and appreciated the department’s efforts in organizing such a meaningful awareness programme for the community.
The event saw active participation from PRI members, village representatives, and local residents, showcasing strong community involvement in promoting sustainable and hygienic living practices.
As part of the programme, cleanliness drives were held in both Panchayats, resonating with the spirit of the Month of Compassion.
Similarly, Awareness cum Cleanliness Drives were also conducted across all Panchayats under the Skurbuchan block, where enthusiastic public participation further reinforced the success of the campaign.
