Jammu, Aug 18: India today stands at the threshold of a historic transformation, marching with confidence under a visionary leadership towards reclaiming its ancient glory as Vishawguru of the world. “We have full faith in our leadership and the collective strength of 140 crore citizens, and together we will script a new chapter of development, unity and global recognition,” stated the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, while addressing a programme organised by the Jammu branch of Divya Jyoti Jagran Sanstha in Jammu.
The Lt Governor underlined the importance of recognising responsibilities along with rights. “When Rajpath becomes Kartavya Path, when every citizen holds the Tricolour with pride, fulfils their Fundamental Duties and works for the progress of the nation, then India is surely moving in the right direction,” he remarked.
Recalling his recent visit to the Kargil War Memorial at Drass on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Lt Governor paid rich tributes to the 542 brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1999 Kargil War and remembered the 1,536 soldiers who continue to live with the pain of their injuries. He said that these sacrifices must serve as a constant reminder for every citizen to give back to the nation. “It is not enough to only clap when we remember them; we must live with the consciousness that the nation has given us so much, and we too must contribute,” he added.
Reaffirming faith in the collective will of the people and the leadership guiding the nation, the Lt Governor said that just as the 140-crore citizens of India are working with dedication, the elected representatives in the highest offices are also committed to meeting the aspirations of the people. He added that the synergy between leadership and citizens will take India towards development, prosperity, and the dream of becoming Vishwaguru once again.
At the same time, the Lt Governor cautioned that there are still some elements that attempt to weaken the country. “It is our duty to counter such ideas and strengthen the unity of India. Let us pledge that every drop of our blood will be devoted to the service of the nation. This spirit of dedication should not only guide us but also inspire generations to come,” he urged.
