The drill simulated a real-life flash flood scenario, during which participants enacted evacuation procedures, search and rescue operations, and the establishment of emergency response centres.
At the staging area, set up at the LDA building near TCP Khaltse, the simulation triggered coordinated rescue operations by officials, local police, and medical teams. NCC students from Government Higher Secondary School, Khaltse, also participated actively by performing rescue operations during the drill.
Addressing the participants, the Incident Commander/SDM Khaltse highlighted the significance of mock drill exercises and stressed the importance of coordination and preparedness among all stakeholders during emergencies.
Station House Officer (SHO) Khaltse, Jamyang Namgial, also underscored the need for immediate and well-coordinated action in such situations and emphasized preparedness at all levels.
The mock drill witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, officials, and students, under the leadership of SDM/Incident Commander Mohd Sharif, thereby reinforcing the collective commitment towards enhancing disaster response capabilities in Sub Division Khaltse.
