    Kargil, October 7, 2025: Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh, Prof. Saket Kushwaha, visited the Government Degree College (GDC) Kargil on Tuesday.
    Prof. Kushwaha was received by Principal Disket Angmo with traditional khataks and escorted by NCC cadets to the college seminar hall, where a large number of students had gathered for his address.
    In her welcome speech, Principal Angmo extended warm greetings to the Vice Chancellor on behalf of the college and expressed gratitude for his second visit to the institution.
    Syed Mustafa Kamal, Staff Secretary and Assistant Professor of Geography, presented a memorandum on behalf of the faculty, highlighting academic and administrative concerns for the Vice Chancellor’s consideration. Representing the College Student Council, Mehboob Ali, a fifth-semester student, also submitted a memorandum for the Vice Chancellor’s perusal.
    Addressing the gathering, Prof. Kushwaha assured both faculty members and students that their genuine issues would be addressed within the university’s framework. He urged students to maintain peace and harmony, refrain from any unlawful activity, and remain focused on building secure and responsible careers.
    The Vice Chancellor also advised the college administration to organize awareness programmes and seminars on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to help students understand their legal rights and responsibilities.
    Prof. Kushwaha expressed satisfaction with the recent academic performance of the college and appreciated the efforts of the principal and faculty for contributing to the institution’s overall development.
    The proceedings were conducted by Ms. Varsha Yadav, who also delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the college.
