    Kargil, October 08, 2025: The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Srinagar Bench, commenced its 5th circuit sitting in Kargil today at the Tourist Facilitation Centre, Biamathang.
    The Bench is being presided over by Hon’ble Judicial Member Mr. M.S. Latif and Hon’ble Administrative Member Mr. Prashant Kumar. The initiative aims to provide convenient access to justice for government employees and pensioners of the Union Territory of Ladakh by addressing service related grievances locally.
    Earlier, the Bench was warmly welcomed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, officers of the Law Department, and members of the Bar Association Kargil. Adv. Murtaza ,Adv Asgar Yarrken and Shahnawaz Hussain Law officer also extended a warm welcome to the visiting Bench on behalf of the law department UT Ladakh.
    In his welcome address, ADC Kargil described the occasion as a milestone in enhancing judicial accessibility for the people of Kargil. He expressed gratitude to the CAT Bench for holding the sitting in Kargil, noting that it will help in resolving several pending cases locally, thereby saving time and resources for litigants. He also thanked the officers of the Legal Fraternity, District Administration, and UT Ladakh for their cooperation and support.
    Hon’ble Judicial Member Mr. M.S. Latif, in his address, emphasized that the “flag of justice must always remain burning,” highlighting that this fifth circuit sitting in Kargil has been made possible through the consistent support of the Kargil Administration, UT Ladakh Administration, and the Department of Law. He extended heartfelt thanks to the officers of District Kargil and Leh, the Bar Association Kargil, and the CAT Srinagar Bench representatives for their assistance and active participation in facilitating the circuit sitting.
    Apt to mention here that a total of 19 cases were listed for hearing 01 disposed off on the opening day.
