Durbuk, 24th October, 2024: The Durbuk Forest Range celebrated International Snow Leopard Day with great enthusiasm, marked by various activities organized under the global campaign theme “23 for 23.” The campaign focused on a 23-minute activity as a symbolic act dedicated to raising awareness about the Snow Leopard and its mountain ecosystem.
1. Under the auspicious presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. K. K. Jha, IFS (Retd.), Ex-PCCF, Uttar Pradesh, a 23-minute walk along the banks of Pangong Lake was conducted with active participation from the Maan village community.
2. A similar awareness walk was carried out with ITBP officials at Changla Pass (17,586 ft), promoting communication and awareness on Snow Leopard conservation.
