    The Forest Range Office, Nubra, in collaboration with Nubra F.C., celebrated International Snow Leopard Day on 23rd October 2025. To mark the occasion, a seven-a-side football match was organized at Hunder Sand Dunes. The match consisted of two halves of 23 minutes each, symbolizing the theme #23for23.
    The event aimed to highlight the importance of conserving the Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia)—the State Animal of Ladakh and an iconic symbol of the region’s rich biodiversity. The initiative sought to raise awareness among local youth about their vital role in protecting wildlife and preserving the natural environment.
    Officials from the Forest Range Office, Nubra, addressed the participants, emphasizing the need for community involvement in wildlife conservation and encouraging students to actively contribute towards safeguarding the environment.
    The event concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from local school students and the support of the community, reinforcing the message of coexistence and conservation.
