Administrative Secretary and Director, SED felicitate students at District Level Kala Utsav.
Leh, Oct 25, 2025: The prize distribution ceremony of District Level Kala Utsav 2025, Leh was held on October 25 at DIET Hall, Leh and the students were felicitated by Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, UT Ladakh, Bhanu Prabha and Director, School Education Department, UT Ladakh, Tashi Dolma in the presence of Chief Education Officer, Leh, Deldan Angmo and Principal, DIET, Leh, Mirza Mehdi.
During the ceremony the students showcased a cultural group dance along with a solo musical performance to give a glimpse of the various performances that happened during the day. The prizes were given in various categories that included storytelling, drama, group dance, solo singing, visual arts, etc.
The Administrative Secretary and Director, School Education Department, UT Ladakh in both their addresses applauded the students in showcasing Ladakh’s culture through various forms and encouraged them to aim for a medal at the National level. Furthermore, the Administrative Secretary highlighted that the School Education Department is committed to hone the talent of the students not just in academic pursuits but also in co-curricular pursuits like dancing, music and any other creative pursuits. She also stated that the Department has requested the mentors/judges to further guide and improvise upon the preparation of the students for better performance at the National level.
Additionally, the Director, SED, UT Ladakh said that the Department has directed all the teachers, Headmasters and Principals to identify talented students at the early stages so that while they are in school the Department can provide them music teachers as well as dance teachers who can nurture their talent along with their academic studies.
Similarly, the winners from District Level Kala Utsav, Kargil will compete with the winners from Leh and following this the the UT level champions will compete at the National level alongside other States and Union Territories
