    NMBA Seminar on Drug Awareness Organized by District De-Addiction Centre, Leh.
    LEH, OCTOBER 30, 2025: As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the District De-Addiction Centre (DDAC), Leh, organized an insightful seminar aimed at sensitizing students and youth about the growing challenges of substance abuse and the importance of a drug-free society.
    The event began with an introductory briefing by Mohd Safdar(JKAS), District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), Leh, who highlighted the serious impact of drug abuse on individuals, families, and communities. He encouraged students to act as ambassadors of change and spread awareness among their peers.
    The seminar featured expert talks by distinguished resource persons, including Dr. Padma, Psychiatrist from SNM Hospital Leh; Advocate Nima Stanzin from the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA); and Ms. Sonam, Manager at JKSPYM, an NGO working on drug abuse prevention with a special focus on youth.
    Each speaker addressed different dimensions of drug abuse — from its psychological and legal implications to preventive strategies and rehabilitation efforts. The session emphasized the collective responsibility of society to support individuals struggling with addiction and to promote healthy lifestyles among youth.
    The audience included enthusiastic participation from students of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Jamyang School, CIBS School, and CIBS College, along with the staff members of DDAC Leh.
    The seminar concluded with an interactive session followed by the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Pledge, reaffirming everyone’s commitment to work collectively towards a drug-free Ladakh.
