Kargil, November 24, 2025: Karsha Block of Kargil district has achieved a major milestone by emerging as the top-performing block in India under NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Block Programme (ABP).
The block was honoured for its exceptional progress across key development indicators. As part of this award, the block will receive a monetary prize of ₹3 crore.
Karsha achieved full saturation in 39 KPIs, earning national recognition for its performance in sectors such as health, nutrition, education, agriculture and allied services, basic infrastructure, drinking water, sanitation, financial inclusion, and social development.
The Deputy Commissioner of Kargil praised the coordinated efforts of Nodal Officer ABP JD/CPO Abdul Hadi, concerned District level officers, block-level teams, frontline workers, and community groups—particularly self-help groups and Anganwadi workers—for driving this transformation.
