A District Level One Day FOLK DANCE Competition for Class 8th & 9th (High Schools Only) under NATIONAL POPULATION EDUCATION CELL(NCERT) was conducted on 25th November, 2025 in the exhibition hall DIET, Leh wherein students from different high schools of Leh district participated with great enthusiasm.
The Folk dance are not just forms of entertainment but also serve as an expressions of joy, rituals and social adjustment. Learning folk dance has a positive impact on students self –perception and self-esteem.Through the performance of dance, the students can deeply understand their own bodies and emotions and gradually realize their own strengths and potentials. This kind of self –perception enhancement helps students self-confidence and self-esteem, and cultivate a positive mindset, so that they can better face the challenges and difficulties in life.
Sh.Tsetan Angchuk (Retd. Sr. Teacher) and Smt. Sonam Yangchan,Teacher were the judges of the programme. In the competition,the first position was begged by students of Govt. High School, Chumathang ; second position by the students of High School, Yourgo and third position begged by the students of High School,Hemis Shukpachan. The position holders were felicitated by the Worthy Chief Education Officer-Leh, Ms. Deldan Angmo and HOD DIET-Leh, Ms. Tsering Yangdol.
