EC PDD, Zakir Hussain Directs Absolute Project Ltd. to Accelerate Rs 116 Cr Power Strengthening Works in Kargil.
Kargil, December 1, 2025: The Hon’ble Executive Councillor (EC) for Power Development Department, LAHDC Kargil, Zakir Hussain, convened a meeting in his office chamber today. The attendees included the Executive Engineer, Electric Power Division, Kargil; the Executive Engineer, Power Division, Ladakh; the Senior Deputy General Manager (DGM), Power Grid; and the In-charge of Project Absolute Project Limited.
During the meeting, the EC reviewed the status of works related to the shifting and strengthening of existing power lines, strengthening of lines through cabling, expansion and erection of poles, and replacement of transformers. An amount of Rs. 116.00 crores has been sanctioned by the government for these works in Kargil district, to be executed by Absolute Project Limited.
Expressing his dismay over the slow pace of work, the EC directed the concerned officials to accelerate the progress by engaging more labourers at the ground level.
Subsequently, the Hon’ble Executive Councillor, accompanied by the officers, visited Chulachay, Pashkum, Ali Abad, Pashkum, and Govt. Higher Secondary School (HSS), Pashkum, to inspect the works currently being carried out by the agency in these areas.
The EC directed the In-charge of Absolute Project Limited to ensure the dumping of all required materials at Kargil before the closure of the Zojila Pass to facilitate the timely progress of works.
