Kargil Lok Adalat Resolves 392 Cases, Facilitates Settlement of Over ₹51 Lakh.
Kargil, December 13, 2025: Under the directions of National Legal Services Authority and Ladakh Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority Kargil organized 4th National Lok Adalat today.
The Pre Lok Adalat sessions had commenced from 2nd of December to 12th of December, 2025 in which six benches where constituted at District Headquarter Kargil and Tehsil Courts of Sankoo , Zanskar & Drass, to resolve the different kinds of cases through amicable settlement and compromise, pending in all courts of district Kargil.
The cases include Criminal Compoundable Matters, Civil disputes, Cheque bounce Cases under NI Act, Bank Recovery Cases, MACT, Labour cases, Matrimonial Issues, Compoundable Electricity and Water Bills, land Acquisition cases, Revenue cases, Municipal Cases, BSNL Bills, Traffic matters, Pre Litigation cases etc.
The first bench was presided over by Mr. Sheikh Gowher Hussain Principal District & Sessions Judge/Chairman DLSA Kargil, the second bench was presided over by Mr. Tsewang Phuntsog Ld. CJM Kargil, the third bench was presided over by Mr. Chemit Yurgyal Ld. Secretary DLSA Kargil. Similarly, National Lok Adalat were also held at Headquarter Kargil and Tehsil Courts of Sankoo , Zanskar & Drass and abench was presided over by Ld. Chairman Mr. Sadiq Ali Wazir.
A total number 475 cases were referred to the National Lok Adalat out of the same 392 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs. 5165203/- was recovered as settlement amount and Rs.96900/- was realized as fine.
