B-3 Helicopter services were inaugurated on 16 December 2025 at Diskit, Nubra, marking a significant step toward enhancing regional connectivity, promoting tourism and strengthening emergency response services at subsidized fares.
The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Nubra, Shri Mukul Beniwal, IAS, Station House Officer Shri Meraj Giri and Naib Tehsildar Shri Habibullah, along with other officials.
Soon after the commencement of services, the helicopter was deployed for a medical emergency, during which a patient from Hunder was successfully airlifted to Leh for advanced medical treatment. This immediate utilization highlighted the crucial role of the B-3 helicopter service in ensuring timely emergency support for residents of remote and high altitude areas.
The initiative is expected to significantly benefit local residents by improving access to essential services, boosting tourism and facilitating timely medical evacuations during critical situations.
