Kargil, January 31, 2026 – The three-day workshop on Art Integrated Learning (AIL) successfully concluded today at DIET Kargil. The program was designed to equip teachers with essential skills in integrating art and drama to make the teaching-learning process more joyful and engaging. It brought together 45 in-service teachers from various zones across Kargil District for interactive sessions spanning three days.
The inaugural session was graced by Principal DIET Kargil, Sh. SD Namgyal, who in his remarks emphasized the importance of integrating art-related activities to make classes and learning more interesting. The workshop modules explored diverse art forms and strategies for art-integrated learning to foster joyful educational environments. Expert insights were shared by renowned Artist Sh. Kacho Ahmed Khan, Team Stringmo Kargil, and DIET Kargil faculties Dr. Willayat Ali and Mr. Shamim Ahmed.
On the first day, participants engaged in creative art-related activities facilitated by Team Stringmo, aimed at developing various skills and promoting socio-emotional growth among children in classroom settings. The second day and the first half of the third day were led by Sh. Kacho Ahmed Khan, who guided participants through activities to encourage creative thinking. He shared his expertise on various art forms and practically involved attendees in using art, drama, and storytelling to enhance school learning.
In the evening sessions of the third day, Dr. Willayat Ali presented on creating joyful classrooms through art to better understand different subject matters. He further explained the pedagogy of Art Integrated Learning in the context of the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF FS). The final session was jointly conducted by Dr. Willayat Ali and Mr. Shamim Ahmed, focusing on integrating rhymes and songs into learning across subjects, with hands-on activities for participants.
The workshop concluded with final remarks by Khursheeda Banoo, Head of Department at DIET Kargil, who stressed the need for teacher’s active participation in training programs and their effective implementation at the school level. Participants provided positive feedback, commending DIET Kargil for organizing such impactful initiatives. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Syed Abdullah Shah, and the entire session was coordinated by Mr. Shamim Ahmed, faculty at DIET Kargil.
