The Ladakh Pollution Control Committee (LPCC) in coordination with the Municipal Committee (MC),
conducted an enforcement drive against banned Single-Use Plastics (SUP) on 7th February, 2026. The
inspections were carried out and fines were imposed four unit holders found using or selling banned SUP items.
Additionally, a joint inspection of the scrap dealer shops along the Agling Road was conducted to check compliance with waste management norms; informal trading, dis-mantling, recycling of e-Waste, etc. The unit holders were directed to ensure completion of required compliances, documentation and record maintenance within the stipulated time, failing which necessary action shall be taken as per rules. Such enforcement and inspection drives will continue to ensure environmental compliance.
