ADC Kargil Attends On-going Training of Revenue Officers at Baroo, takes stock of its effectiveness.
Kargil, February 11, 2026: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, today attended the on-going training programme being conducted for Revenue Officers and officials of Kargil District at the Conference Hall, Baroo, Kargil.
The training session was conducted by Waseem Ramzan Dar, JKAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Sankoo, who delivered a presentation on the Land Acquisition Law and Compensation framework under the Right to Fair Compensation & Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation & Resettlement (RFCTLARR) Act, 2013.
During the session, the SDM provided a detailed overview of the Act, highlighting various aspects including the procedure for passing Awards, calculation of compensation, Solatium, provisions for Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R), handling of disputes and available remedies, compensation objections and references. He also elaborated on additional compensation in cases of multiple displacement, the Urgency Clause and special provisions for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) along with other provisions under the Act.
While addressing the participants, ADC Imteeaz Kacho emphasized the importance of such brain-storming sessions and urged officers and officials of the Revenue Department to take full advantage of these capacity-building programmes and translate the acquired knowledge into action practically on the ground. He directed the SDM Sankoo to conduct similar training sessions at the Sub-Divisional level to further strengthen the department’s functioning.
The ADC stated that the Deputy Commissioner of Kargil shares the same vision of enhancing the skills of the Revenue Department, towards promotion of the use of modern technologies and for encouraging field functionaries and other staff to upgrade their expertise. He described the Revenue Department as a distinguished and unique department, particularly in matters related to land acquisition and allied subjects.
He also expressed hope that the earlier sessions conducted by former ACR Barkat Ali Nizami and former Deputy Commissioner Hassan Khan proved fruitful and beneficial for the participants. The ADC appreciated their contributions towards strengthening the knowledge base of revenue officials in the District.
