CEO Leh virtually reviews preparations for Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls at Conference Hall of SDM Office Complex Diskit, Nubra.
Nubra, March 12, 2026:
A meeting regarding the preparations for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls in the Union Territory of Ladakh was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer, Rahul Sharma, IAS. The meeting was conducted virtually, while officials participated from the Conference Hall of the SDM Office Complex at Diskit, Nubra.
Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO), Sumoor, Tashi Jorgais joined the meeting virtually, while AERO Diskit, Tufail Iqbal, KAS was present at the venue.
The meeting was also attended by 4 BLO Supervisors from Diskit Tehsil, 2 BLO Supervisors from Sumoor Tehsil, and a total of 69 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from Nubra Sub-Division.
During the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer reviewed the current status and progress of the Electoral Rolls and emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate and updated Electoral Rolls to strengthen the democratic process.
He also encouraged the BLOs to raise their concerns and share issues related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
Additionally, AERO Diskit, Tufail Iqbal, KAS, held detailed discussions on the revision of Electoral Rolls to ensure effective voter registration activities.
He stressed the importance of including all eligible voters, removing ineligible entries, identifying invalid voter IDs and correcting discrepancies in the voter list. The issues and challenges raised by the BLOs were also addressed during the meeting.
The meeting concluded with directions to all concerned departments and officials to ensure timely updates and completion of activities related to the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls in the Nubra Sub Division.
