Sindhu Sharma Launches 1st National Lok Adalat and Annual Calendar of Ladakh Legal Services Authority.

Hon’ble Ms. Justice Sindhu Sharma Judge High Court of J&K and Ladakh and Executive Chairman Ladakh Legal Services Authority, virtually inaugurated the 1st National Lok Adalat and e-launch of annual calendar (LLSA) on 14/03/2026 at the District Court Complex Leh. In this regard,DLSA Leh organized 1t National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex Leh and Munsif Courts Nobra and Khaltsi respectively. Total Which 06 Benches were constituted viz. Bench No. 1 comprising of Ms. Spalzes Angmo, Pr. District & Sessions Judge Leh and Advocate Gonbo Stobgyal. Bench No.2 comprising of
Smt. Phuntsog Angmo, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Leh and Advocate Mohammad Ramzan. Bench No. 3 comprising Sri. Wangail Tsering, Special Mobile Magistrate, Leh and Advocate Phuntsog Stobgyal. Bench No. 4 comprising Assistant Commissioner Revenue Leh and Tehsildar, Leh. Bench No.5 at Khaltsi comprising of Ms. Deldan Angmo, Munsiff Khaltsi. Bench No. 06 at Nobra comprising of Advocate Zulikha Bano.
On the occasion Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Sindhu Sharma Judge Hight Court of J&K and Ladakh and Executive Chairman Ladakh Legal Services Authority stated that the people of Ladakh have long been known for their spirit of harmony and mutual respect. She appreciated that the comparatively low number of court cases in the region reflects the community’s strong tradition of resolving disputes through dialogue and mutual understanding rather than prolonged litigation.She also mentioned that with the development in the region litigation is also bound to increase but litigants must resort to ADR system of dispute resolution, Lok Adalat being one of them as per the practice prevalent in the region.
In the said National Lok Adalat cases pertaining to Bank Cases, Recovery matters, Matrimonial Cases, Criminal Compoundable Cases, Civil Case, Labour disputes etc. were taken up and disposed of. Total of 364 cases were taken up out of which 220 cases were disposed of Total settlement amount was Rs.73,99,710/- (Rupees Seventy-three lakh ninety-nine thousand seyen hundred ten only/-).
