Kargil, March 23, 2026: In a bid to curb the illegal use of domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders for commercial purposes, the district administration of Kargil conducted a surprise market inspection drive on the directions of the Additional District Magistrate, Kargil.

During the inspection, several tea stalls, hotels, and restaurants were found violating government norms by using domestic LPG cylinders for commercial activities. Such usage is strictly prohibited under existing regulations, as domestic LPG is subsidized exclusively for household consumption.
