Kargil, March 25, 2026: The Khidmat-e-Awaam and Shaam-e-Awaam programme under the ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ campaign was held today at Panchayat Ghar, Minjee Yokma.
Tehsildar Kargil, Ayaz Ahmad, briefed the public about the Khidmat-e-Awaam initiative, which aims to provide services at the doorstep and address public grievances. He stated that the camp was organized to resolve issues on the spot, with various departments setting up stalls and deploying staff.
Councillor Khadim Hussain thanked the administration for organizing the event at Minjee. Considering the large size of the village, he requested that a similar programme be conducted at another Panchayat Ghar in Goma Minjee. He also highlighted key issues of the area and urged the public to avail maximum benefits from such initiatives.
Present on the occasion were Councillor Baroo Minjee Khadim Hussain, Tehsildar Kargil Ayaz Ahmad, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Niyazul Hassanain, Executive Engineer PWD Kausar, and representatives of various departments. The programme was also attended by village elders, public representatives, local residents, and members of Self Help Groups.
Departmental representatives created awareness about various government schemes and encouraged the public to approach them on the spot for grievance redressal.
The public raised issues related to Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), organic farming, stray dog menace, Self Help Groups, roads, horticulture, and other sectors.
In the ongoing session , Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Jahangeer Akhoon, conducted the Shaam-e-Awaam session, where he listened to the public and noted their demands and grievances.
Speaking on the occasion, the ACR highlighted the tourism potential of Minjee, noting its location along the National Highway. He encouraged residents to maintain cleanliness and develop the village as a model green village. He also urged the public to actively participate in the ongoing district-wide cleanliness drive.
The ACR, along with other officials, visited the Primary School at Minjee and link road Gyasna where he reviewed developmental works. He also visited Public Library and iteracted with the students.
