    3-Day Training for Census 2027 Phase-I Begins in Kargil, Focus on Accurate and Digital Data Collection.
    Kargil, March 30, 2026: A three-day training programme for Charge Officers for Phase-I of Census 2027, covering House Listing and Housing Census (HLO), commenced today at Conference Hall Baroo, Kargil under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner/Principal Census Officer, Kargil, Shri Rakesh Kumar, IAS.
    The programme witnessed participation from key officials including ADC/District Census Officer Kargil, Ghulam Mohd; Tehsildar Kargil, Ayaz Ahmed; Tehsildar Sankoo, Mohd Saleem Wazir; Tehsildar Zanskar, Mohd Hassan; and Tehsildar Shakar-Chiktan, Waseem Ramzan, along with clerical staff from respective charge offices.
    The training aims to equip Census Charge Officers with the necessary guidelines and procedures for the effective conduct of the House Listing and Housing Census phase. Emphasis is being laid on ensuring accuracy, coordination, and adherence to prescribed protocols during the enumeration process.
    In addition, the officers were sensitized about the use of digital tools and data collection formats to ensure uniformity and accuracy in the census process.
    Stress was laid on maintaining transparency, timely reporting, and proper verification of data at all stages. The participants were also encouraged to address field-level challenges proactively and ensure effective coordination among various stakeholders for smooth implementation of the exercise.
    The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of the Census exercise as a vital tool for planning and policy formulation and urged all officers to perform their duties with dedication and responsibility to ensure reliable and error-free data collection.
    The training programme will continue over the next two days, covering various operational and technical aspects of the census process.
