GDC Khaltse Observes Bhoti Day.
Government Degree College, Khaltsi observed Bhoti Day with an academic programme highlighting the importance of language and cultural preservation. The event was hosted by Skarma Otsal (6th Semester student) and began with a welcome address by Assistant Professor Dr Shah Nawaz (Political Science), who emphasized the significance of the occasion.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Tsewang Gyaltsen, a scholar of Buddhist Studies, spoke on the historical contribution of earlier generations in securing recognition for the Bhoti language and stressed its cultural importance. He described language as the soul of culture and underscored the need to preserve Bhoti, a rich and ancient language with a distinct script and grammar. He also highlighted the role of mother tongue education in fostering creativity, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Shah Nawaz
