Kargil, April 02, 2026: Three-day training programme on Census 2027 concluded today at Conference Hall Baroo, Kargil, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner/ District Census Officer, Kargil, Ghulam Mohd, JKAS.
The training was attended by Tehsildar Sankoo Waseem Ramzan, Tehsildar Taisuru Saleem Wazir, Tehsildar Zanskar Mohd Hassan, Tehsildar Shakar-Chiktan Sajjad Hussain, Naib Tehsildars of Drass, Chiktan and Shargole, along with Patwaris and other concerned officials of the district.
Addressing the participants, the ADC thanked all attendees for actively participating in the training programme and highlighted the importance of the Census exercise as a crucial component for effective planning and governance. He stressed the need for strict adherence to modernized and practical methods of census operations.
He further informed that, following discussions with the Deputy Commissioner Kargil, teaching staff will not be used as backup for census duties, recognizing their primary role as nation builders. Instead, non-teaching staff and officials from other departments will be utilized to ensure smooth and efficient execution of the process.
The ADC also apprised that the self-enumeration portal will remain open from May 17 to May 31, followed by the commencement of the house listing phase from June 1. He urged all officials to work in close coordination and cooperation to ensure the successful conduct of the census exercise.
During the training, master trainers provided detailed guidance on all aspects of the census process from self-enumeration to final data submission covering each stage comprehensively with minute details to ensure clarity and accuracy in field implementation.
