Orientation Camp for Sub-Inspector/ Constable aspirants begins, over 500 Candidates register on Day One.
Kargil, April 04, 2026: On the directions of the DGP, UT Ladakh, Sh. Mukesh Singh- IPS, aimed at training and familiarising Sub-Inspector and Constable aspirants for the upcoming recruitment in Ladakh Police, District Police Kargil today commenced with the orientation camp at Khree Sultan Cho Stadium.
On the very first day, more than 500 aspirants registered and participated in the programme. The candidates were briefed by officers regarding the recruitment process and its various stages.
As part of the programme, aspirants were introduced to and trained for the Physical Endurance Test (PET), which includes events such as long-run , long jump and push-ups for male candidates and shot put for female candidates, as per the prescribed recruitment standards.
This Physical Endurance Test training camp will be followed by orientation sessions for the written examination, which will be conducted separately for Sub-Inspector and Constable aspirants.
SSP Kargil, Sh. Nitin Yadav -IPS, while addressing the aspirants, encouraged them to train diligently and extended his best wishes for their success. He reiterated the commitment of Ladakh Police, under the guidance of DGP Ladakh Sh.Mukesh Singh -IPS, to ensure that every aspirant is adequately trained and well-prepared for both the Physical Endurance Test and the written examination. He further informed that similar orientation camp will also be organised separately for the aspirants at Zanskar.
Additional SP Kargil, Sh. Kacho Ishtyaq A. A. Khan -JKPS, welcomed the aspirants and briefed them about the PET framework. He also conveyed his best wishes to all participants on behalf of Ladakh Police.
Besides the officers of District Police Kargil, the camp is actively supported by the Physical Education Teachers of Youth Services and Sports Department Kargil who have been specially deployed for the purpose.
