    Drass, April 08, 2026: A public outreach programme titled “Khidmat-e-Awaam” was successfully organized today at Matayen in Drass Subdivision of Kargil District, witnessing significant participation from local residents as well as officials from various government departments.
    The programme was organized by the District Administration with the objective of promoting good governance and ensuring the delivery of government services at the doorstep of the people. The initiative was conducted under the directions of the Chief Secretary of Ladakh, as part of the ongoing district-wide outreach programmes being held under the aegis of Khidmat-e-Awaam.
    The programme was convened under the supervision of Sub Divisional Magistrate, Vishal Atri. During the interaction, residents from the area actively participated and projected several developmental demands. Prominent issues raised included construction of Irrigation canal, and construction of Medical Sub Centre at Matayen.
    Officials from various line departments interacted with the public, listened to their concerns, and assured appropriate follow-up action. The programme provided an important platform for direct engagement between the administration and the local population.
    The District Administration reiterated its commitment to strengthening public service delivery and ensuring that government services reach every corner of the district through such outreach initiatives.
    Department of Sheep Husbandry Drass gave awareness to public regarding various schemes for protection and rearing of livestock.
    CDPO, ICDS Drass sensitised the public to maintain hygiene, and give proper nutrition to children. JK Bank Drass gave financial awareness to the public and various services of the bank.
    At last SDM Drass directed all sectoral officers to attend the Khidmat-e-Awaam events on every Wednesday and provide services to the public.
