    The Department of Anthropology, EJM College Leh, successfully organized the celebration of World Heritage Day on 18 April 2026 with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of preserving cultural and historical heritage.
    The program began at 11:00 AM with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Shivanshi Nehria, who highlighted the significance of World Heritage Day and the need to safeguard our rich cultural legacy. This was followed by an introduction to the importance and global relevance of heritage conservation.
    At 11:30 AM, students presented an insightful awareness speech focusing on the preservation of monuments, traditions, and cultural identity. The speakers emphasized the responsibility of the younger generation in protecting heritage for future generations.
    A Poster Competition was organized from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, where students enthusiastically participated and displayed their creativity through posters depicting themes such as monuments, traditions, and cultural diversity.
    The event concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM. The winners of the competition were felicitated, and certificates were distributed. The program ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Diskit Wangmo, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers and active participation of students.
    Overall, the celebration was informative, engaging, and successful in promoting awareness about the importance of preserving our heritage.
