    The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Leh, Shri Mukul Beniwal, IAS, chaired a meeting today at the Conference Hall, DC Office Leh, to review preparedness for the upcoming Civil Defence Air Raid/Blackout Mock Exercise scheduled for 24 April 2026.
    During the meeting, SP UTDRF Ladakh, Shri Aadil, briefed officials on the structure and execution of the scenario-based mock drill. Emphasizing Leh’s strategic sensitivity and drawing lessons from past incidents, it was noted that the exercise aims to identify operational gaps, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and enhance emergency response mechanisms.
    The mock drill will be conducted on 24 April 2026 in Leh Market, commencing at approximately 7:00 PM and lasting for around 40 minutes. The exercise will simulate real-time emergency conditions, including air raid warnings, blackout enforcement, evacuation procedures, and coordinated response by multiple agencies.
    ADC Leh advised all departments to appoint nodal officers to ensure seamless inter-departmental coordination during the drill. He also urged the public to remain calm and cooperate fully, emphasizing that the exercise is being conducted solely as a preparedness measure and that there is no cause for alarm.
    The administration appeals to the general public to adhere to instructions issued during the drill and to support the authorities in strengthening disaster preparedness in the region.
    ACR Leh, Shri Delex Namgyal (JKAS), Addl. SP Leh, Shri Rigzen Sangdup, and other officials from various departments also attended the meeting.
