Inauguration of Ladakh Model High School Igoo held with enthusiasm.
Leh, April 27, 2026: A proud and memorable day was witnessed by the local community as the inauguration of Ladakh Model High School Igoo was successfully conducted by Smt. Bhanu Prabha, IAS, Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, UT Ladakh, in the presence of officials from the Education Department, the Headmaster, SMDC members, Goba, and villagers.
The upgradation of Government High School Igoo into Ladakh Model High School marks a significant milestone in strengthening the education sector in the region. The initiative reflects the Administration’s strong commitment towards enhancing educational standards, improving infrastructure, and ensuring holistic development of students.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the School Headmaster, teaching staff, parents, students, VEC Chairman, Goba, Shakya Tsokpa President and members, along with other prominent members of the community.
During her visit, the Administrative Secretary undertook a detailed inspection of the school campus, including the nursery section, classrooms, boys’ hostel, and girls’ hostel. She interacted with the Headmaster, teachers, VEC Chairman, Goba, and representatives of the Shakya Tsokpa, and held discussions on various aspects related to hostel facilities, classroom conditions, and overall development of the institution.
Smt. Bhanu Prabha appreciated the efforts of the school authorities, SMDC, and parents for their active cooperation in developing the institution and maintaining the facilities.
The programme was further enlivened by cultural performances presented by the students, including traditional dances, modern performances, and songs, adding vibrancy to the occasion.
The inauguration of Ladakh Model High School Igoo marks a new beginning towards ensuring quality education and creating a brighter future for the students of the region.
