    Union MoS George Kurian visits Kargil War Memorial in Drass.
    Drass, May 02, 2026: On the last day of his visit to Ladakh, Minister of State for Minority Affairs & Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Darying, Government of India, George Kurian visited the Kargil War Memorial in Drass today. He was accompanied by Private Secretary Bejoy John and Additional Private Secretary PK Suresh.
    The Minister was welcomed at the War Memorial by Brigadier Ashish Bhalla (Sena Medal), Station Commander, 56 Mountain Brigade; Imteeaz Kacho, Deputy Commissioner, Drass; Ishtyaq Kacho, Superintendent of Police, Drass beides the LAHDC Councillors, Abdul Wahid and Abdul Samad.
    The Minister laid a wreath to honour the martyrs of the Kargil War of 1999 and paid floral tributes to the brave soldiers. He was briefed by Brigadier Bhalla about the entire operations of the Kargil War and was shown around various facilities of the memorial.
    The Union Minister also interacted with the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police as well as the LAHDC Councillors and discussed various aspects of development in the newly formed District of Drass.
