Leh, May 5, 2026: The Mega Free Medical Camp, being organised as part of the ongoing Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of the Tathagata Buddha in Ladakh, continued successfully on its fourth day at the MIMC Devachan Campus, Leh.
The camp is being conducted by the UT Administration in collaboration with the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) and SNM Hospital, and will continue till May 14, 2026.
On the fourth day, the camp witnessed increased participation, with more than 150 people from different parts of Ladakh, including local residents, monks, nuns, workers, school students and children, availing free medical check-up services.
A team of specialist doctors, including Gynaecologists, ENT specialists, Ophthalmologists and Dental Surgeons, along with local doctors(Amchis), provided consultations. Essential services such as TB screening, NCD screening, radiology and other diagnostic facilities were also conducted.
The camp also featured a Sowa-Rigpa Medical Camp organised by the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa (NISR), Leh, under the Tribal Health Care Research Programme. Under this initiative, local Sowa-Rigpa doctors (Amchis) were deputed to provide check-ups and consultations, and traditional Sowa-Rigpa medicines were also distributed free of cost to the patients as per their diagnosis.
The initiative continues to serve as an important outreach effort, ensuring accessible healthcare services to the people during the sacred exposition while addressing a wide range of medical needs in the region.
