Three-Day Census 2027 (HLO) Training Programme Starts in Leh.
Leh, May 5, 2026: A three-day training programme for Field Trainers and Technical Assistants of Leh district under Phase-I of Census 2027 (House Listing and Housing Census – HLO) started today at the Conference Hall of the DC Office, Leh, under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, Leh.
The training is being organised by the Office of the Principal Census Officer/Deputy Commissioner, Leh, in collaboration with the Directorate of Census Operations, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The aim of the programme is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to carry out house listing and housing census work properly.
During the inaugural session, Assistant Director and Nodal Officer for UT Ladakh, Shri Jatinder Kumar, along with Assistant Director and Master Trainer for Leh district, Shri Ghulam Mohammad, gave PowerPoint presentations. They explained important topics such as House Listing and Housing Census (HLO), identification of buildings and census houses, and correct counting of households.
The resource persons highlighted the importance of accurate data collection and following proper guidelines. They also informed participants about updated methods and field procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of the census work.
The training programme will continue till May 7, 2026.
