Sixth Day of Mega Free Medical Camp Witnesses Large Turnout at MIMC Devachan.
Leh, May 7, 2026: The Mega Free Medical Camp, organised as part of the ongoing Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of the Tathagata Buddha in Ladakh, continued successfully on its sixth day at the MIMC Devachan Campus, Leh.
The camp is being organised by the UT Administration in collaboration with the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) and SNM Hospital, and will continue till May 14, 2026.
On the sixth day, the camp witnessed a large turnout, with people from different parts of Ladakh availing free medical check-up and treatment facilities.
A team of specialist doctors, including Dr. Neeta (Gynaecologist), Dr. Darshil (Physician), Dr. Sami Ullha (ENT Specialist), Dr. Satyanarayan (Surgeon), Dr. Nilza (Dental Surgeon), and Dr. Tohaira (Ophthalmologist), provided consultations and treatment to the beneficiaries.
Essential healthcare services such as TB screening, NCD screening, radiology, and other diagnostic facilities were also conducted during the camp to ensure comprehensive medical care for the public.
The camp also featured a Sowa-Rigpa Medical Camp organised by the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa (NISR), Leh, under the Tribal Health Care Research Programme. Renowned local Sowa-Rigpa doctors (Amchis), including Dr. Phuntsog Tsering and Dr. Lotus Odzer, provided medical consultations and distributed traditional medicines free of cost to patients according to their diagnosis.
The initiative continues to serve as an important public welfare outreach during the sacred exposition, ensuring accessible healthcare services while addressing a wide range of medical needs of the people across the region.
