    On the sixth day of the ongoing cultural celebrations organised in connection with the Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha, the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, hosted a vibrant evening cultural programme at Leh Main Market.
    The cultural evenings, being held from May 2 to May 13, 2026, are organised under the theme “Peace Beyond Borders” to commemorate the 2569th Vesak Purnima. The event drew an enthusiastic gathering of locals and tourists alike, reflecting the spirit of cultural harmony, unity, and shared celebration.
    Air Commodore Ajay Rathi, Vayu Sena Medal, Air Force Station Leh, attended the programme as the Chief Guest and was felicitated with a memento by the organisers in recognition of his gracious presence and support for the occasion.
    The evening showcased a vibrant blend of traditional and folk performances from across India and abroad, celebrating the richness and diversity of cultural heritage. Performances included Shonkalima by the cultural troupe from Skurbuchan, cultural presentations by artists from Bhutan, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh, the traditional Jabro Dance by the Drukpa Kharnakling Cultural Group, and soulful Ladakhi folk songs by Tsering Norzom, Kunzang Lamo, Shara, Angchuk Dorjay, and Tsering Dorjay Spituk. The audience was also enthralled by energetic performances from the Kargil Band.
    Artists from Bhutan presented the folk song “Phu Yi Gi Dorji Drala,” celebrating the natural beauty and spiritual essence of their homeland, followed by a soulful musical performance by the troupe and a live rendition by singer Leki Tshewang. Maharashtrian artists performed a devotional song in praise of Lord Biroba, while artists from Uttar Pradesh staged a dramatic theatrical folk performance depicting the transformative journey of Prince Siddhartha into Lord Buddha.
    The evening concluded with lively Balti and Hindi musical performances by the Kargil Band, which captivated and engaged the audience with great enthusiasm.
    The cultural programme concluded on a vibrant and celebratory note, further strengthening the message of peace, cultural exchange, communal harmony, and unity through art and tradition.
