DC Kargil Inspects FSTP at Kurbathang, Reviews Sanitation Measures.
Kargil, May 12, 2026: The Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, IAS, today inspected the Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) at Kurbathang near Airport-Choskore Road to review sanitation facilities and preparedness ahead of the proposed visit of higher authorities.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the functioning of the treatment plant and inspected various sections including washrooms, panel room and office premises. Stressing the importance of cleanliness and proper maintenance, he directed the concerned departments to ensure that the entire facility is maintained in a neat and hygienic condition.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that all pending works and maintenance issues should be addressed on priority to ensure smooth functioning of the plant.
He further instructed the officers to maintain proper sanitation standards in and around the premises and ensure regular monitoring of the facility.
Officials from PHE/I&FC and Municipal Committee Kargil accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection and briefed him regarding the operational status of the plant.
