    LEH, LADAKH — MAY 25, 2026
Initiated by the Office of Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Chief Education Officer in coordination with Municipal Committee, has officially kicked off the “Clean Leh Mission 2026” across various Government Schools in the municipal area of Leh. This massive cleanliness campaign aims to foster environmental awareness, hygiene, and social responsibility among students, staff, and local community.
The mission commenced on May 25, 2026, with an array of activities including comprehensive cleaning drives in and around school compounds, alongside the solemn taking of the “Swachhta Pledge”.
Students and staff actively participated with great enthusiasm and dedication, cleaning the school surroundings to promote core messages of public hygiene and environmental care. Alongside a dedicated school-wide cleanliness campaign, senior students—under the guidance of school staff—demonstrated practical plantation skills, planting nursery flowers and vegetables for the school’s kitchen garden.
The “Clean Leh Mission 2026” will continue over the coming week with a dynamic schedule of educational and community events. Upcoming activities include poster-making competitions on May 26, essay writing and debates on May 28, and informative street plays and cultural programs scheduled for May 30.
The mission will culminate on May 31 with a large-scale community drive involving parents and local neighborhoods, working hand-in-hand with government offices and private institutions to ensure a cleaner, healthier, and more vibrant Leh.
