DC Drass chairs workshop/interaction session of RD & PR staff on SWM Rules Implementation.
Drass, June 2026: Deputy Commissioner Drass, Imteeaz Kacho, JKAS, chaired a sensitization workshop/interaction of Block Development Officers (BDO) , their staff and Gram Panchayat functionaries of Drass District today in his office on Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026 and orders of Hon’ble Supreme Court. The BDOs of Drass and Bhimbat Blocks were present on the occasion among others.
The Deputy Commissioner also assessed the progress of Swachh Bharat Mission and discussed the ongoing plantation drives across the District. He also reviewed the status of sanitation initiatives, cleanliness drives, solid waste management measures and other activities being undertaken as a part of the ongoing Swachh Gaon Surakshit Jalvayu campaign. He emphasized the need for sustained efforts to maintain cleanliness in public places and ensure active community participation in sanitation campaigns. He was informed about the activities being undertaken during the day in both Blocks of the District apart from the schedule for the remaining few days.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed on the importance of increasing green cover and directed the officers and field staff to ensure proper plantation, maintenance and survival of saplings. He called for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to make the sanitation campaigns successful. Further, he directed the field functionaries to intensify awareness campaigns and ensure effective implementation of the SWM Rules, 2026.
