DC Nubra Flags Off Anti-Drug Awareness Marathon During Lamdon Inter-School Sports Meet.
Nubra, June 12, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Nubra, Sh. Mukul Beniwal, IAS, flagged off a 3.5-km Anti-Drug Awareness Marathon from Taxi Stand, Diskit to Lamdon Model School, Diskit, as part of the Lamdon Inter-School Sports Meet. The marathon was organized under the theme “Run Against Drugs, Race for Success” to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among youth.
The event was jointly flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner Nubra and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Nubra.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the growing vulnerability of youth to drug abuse and commended the organizers for undertaking this noble initiative. He stated that such awareness activities send a strong message to society and help mobilize collective efforts against the menace of drugs.
The Deputy Commissioner called upon all sections of society to join hands in the fight against drug abuse and stressed the need for collective efforts to safeguard the future of the younger generation. He urged everyone to work together towards making Nubra a drug-free district.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of all branches of Lamdon School, teachers, and members of the public, reflecting a shared commitment towards creating a drug-free society.

The marathon concluded with the declaration of winners in the boys’ and girls’ categories. The position holders are as follows:
