DC Kargil Reviews Infrastructure and Development Works at Government Polytechnic College.
Kargil, June 12, 2026: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS) today visited Government Polytechnic College, Kargil, to review the status of infrastructure, academic facilities and ongoing developmental works within the institution.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected classrooms and various facilities across the campus and took stock of ongoing and proposed development projects. He was briefed by the Principal regarding the progress of several infrastructure works, including the construction of a canteen and a 400-capacity examination-cum-computer hall aimed at enhancing facilities for students.
Emphasizing the importance of maintaining a conducive learning environment, the Deputy Commissioner directed the college authorities to ensure comprehensive cleanliness and proper upkeep of the campus. Stressing that the institution should present a neat, clean and welcoming environment, he instructed the college administration to complete the necessary cleanliness and maintenance measures within the current week. He further informed the authorities that he would revisit the college next Saturday to review the progress and assess the improvements made.
The Deputy Commissioner also suggested that unused and unserviceable items be refurbished and brought back into use wherever feasible so that available resources can be utilized effectively for the benefit of students. He underscored that all developmental initiatives and infrastructure projects should be undertaken with the objective of creating a student-friendly campus and ensuring that every facility developed serves the academic and welfare interests of students.
The Principal apprised the Deputy Commissioner of the ongoing developmental activities and future requirements of the college. The Deputy Commissioner subsequently issued necessary directions for the timely completion of infrastructure works and reiterated that all efforts should focus on enhancing the overall learning environment and student experience within the institution.
