    District Police Kargil Concludes Sports Events Under Civic Action Programme 2026.
    Kargil, June 17, 2026: District Police Kargil today concluded the sports events organised under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2026 with the final of the Taekwondo Championship and the closing ceremony held at the SAI Centre, Kargil.
    The closing ceremony was attended by Shri Anil Joshi, Commander 121 Brigade, as Chief Guest and Col Subodh Samudre, CO Maratha LI, as Guest of Honour. SSP Kargil Shri Nitin Yadav, IPS, Shri Anayat-Ullah DySP Hqrs Kargil, other Police Officers, coaches and sports enthusiasts were also present on the occasion.
    The sports events, which commenced on 06-06-2026, witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth across the district. District Police Kargil organised various outdoor and indoor competitions to promote sportsmanship, physical fitness and positive youth engagement.
    Outdoor events included Football, Volleyball and Archery, while indoor events featured Taekwondo, Badminton, Debate and Painting Competitions. A large number of participants took part in the events, reflecting the growing interest of local youth in sports and extracurricular activities.
    Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest lauded the efforts of Shri Nitin Yadav, IPS, SSP Kargil, and his team for successfully organising the sports events and creating a vibrant platform for the youth to showcase their talent and potential. He commended the participants for their enthusiasm, discipline and sporting spirit, and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence in sports while contributing positively to society through constructive and meaningful activities.
    The sports events were organised under the directions of Police Headquarters and under the supervision and guidance of Shri Nitin Yadav, IPS, SSP Kargil. Addressing the gathering, SSP Kargil emphasized that the Civic Action Programme serves as an important platform for engaging youth in positive and productive activities, encouraging healthy lifestyles and steering them away from social evils, particularly drug abuse. He highlighted that such initiatives not only nurture talent and sportsmanship among young people but also strengthen the bond between the police and the community through meaningful engagement.
    SSP Kargil extended gratitude to all sports associations, officials, volunteers and participants for their contribution. He also expressed thanks to the Youth Services and Sports Department, the Power Development Department (PDD), and the Health Department for their support and cooperation.
    The programme concluded with the distribution of prizes and appreciation of participants for their enthusiastic involvement in the sporting activities.
