The Agriculture Department, Leh Zone, organized Khet Bachao Abhiyan Programme along with a Demonstration on Natural Farming Practices under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) at Phey village on 18-06-2026.
The programme aimed to create awareness among farmers about sustainable agricultural practices, soil health management, and the importance of adopting natural farming techniques to reduce dependency on chemical inputs.
During the programme, Ms. Tsering Dolkar, Agriculture Extension Officer, Leh, delivered an awareness session on various agricultural schemes being implemented by the department for the benefit of farmers. She also conducted practical demonstrations on the preparation and application of Jeevamrit and Beejamrit, key inputs used in Natural Farming for enhancing soil fertility, improving crop health, and promoting sustainable agriculture.
The participating farmers actively interacted with the resource persons and expressed keen interest in adopting Natural Farming practices in their fields. 28 number of farmers actively participated in the program.
