DC Kargil Conducts Quarterly Physical Verification of EVM/VVPAT Warehouse.
Kargil, June 29, 2026: Deputy Commissioner/ District Election Officer Kargil, Shri Rakesh Kumar (IAS), today conducted the mandatory quarterly physical verification and inspection of the EVM/VVPAT Warehouse at Kurbathang Plateau near LAHDC Secretariat, Kargil.
The inspection was carried out as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India in the presence of concerned officers and representatives from various departments, including Police, Treasury, NIC, Election Cell, Fire & Emergency Services and representatives of recognised political parties.
During the visit, the District Election Officer reviewed the security arrangements, sealing procedures and maintenance of records related to the EVM/VVPAT warehouse. The prescribed procedures regarding opening and closing of the warehouse were carried out in accordance with Election Commission norms.
The District Election Officer emphasized strict adherence to established protocols and underscored the importance of maintaining transparency, security and accountability in handling election-related equipment.
The inspection process was completed smoothly in the presence of all concerned stakeholders as per laid down guidelines.
