Jammu, July 2: Senior Congress leader and In-charge of the R.S. Pura–Jammu South Constituency Amrit Bali on Thursday extended his heartfelt greetings to devotees on the commencement of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra from Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar, and expressed hope that this year’s pilgrimage would be conducted peacefully, smoothly and with great spiritual fervour.
Bali said the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is not merely a religious pilgrimage but a symbol of India’s rich spiritual heritage, communal harmony and unity in diversity. He said the successful and peaceful conduct of the Yatra is not the responsibility of the government alone but of every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Every pilgrim visiting Jammu and Kashmir becomes an ambassador of the Union Territory after returning home. The hospitality, warmth and assistance extended by the people here leave a lasting impression and contribute significantly to building a positive image of Jammu and Kashmir across the country and abroad,” he said.
The Congress leader emphasized that the manner in which pilgrims are received and facilitated reflects the culture, traditions and values of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said ensuring a safe, comfortable and memorable pilgrimage would further strengthen the Union Territory’s reputation as a land known for its hospitality, peace and religious harmony.
Bali appreciated the efforts of the administration, security forces, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, healthcare personnel, sanitation workers, volunteers and various social and religious organisations working tirelessly to facilitate the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
He expressed confidence that all necessary arrangements have been put in place for the convenience and safety of pilgrims, including security, healthcare, transportation, accommodation, sanitation and other essential services. He hoped that the coordinated efforts of all stakeholders would ensure a seamless and memorable pilgrimage experience for the devotees.
Praying for the successful completion of the Yatra, Bali wished all pilgrims a safe, spiritually enriching and blessed journey and invoked the blessings of Lord Shiva for peace, prosperity and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir and the entire nation.
